TAKE 2 Coaching
What is TAKE 2 Coaching?
TAKE 2 Coaching services are designed to give you the tools necessary to develop the skills needed for self-empowerment. We can show parents how to tackle difficult topics with their child. We can teach children how to appropriately manage the stresses of home and school life. If you are an athlete, parent, coach, or sports facility seeking to challenge yourself to achieve your personal best, our licensed therapist will work closely with you to do just that.
I witnessed first hand the struggles that athletes endure to be successful in their sport. During the 2016 Olympic summer games in Rio, my daughter Laurie Hernandez won team Gold and an individual Silver Medal in gymnastics. With repeated injuries and setbacks, I questioned, “Should she continue in this sport?”As a parent who understands the struggles of an athlete, with years of experience in the field as a licensed social worker, I am uniquely qualified to provide individualized, specialized guidance in this area.
This is why I created TAKE 2 Coaching… to provide elementary and middle school-aged children and athletes of all ages with a positive perspective on how to effectively cope with struggles, as well as emotional and social challenges. The work focuses on creating and maintaining motivation for change, exploring obstacles to change, and creating plans for change.
TAKE 2 “steps” can be utilized by those who strive to challenge themselves to be their personal best. In addition to services to athletes, I also provide education and supportive training to parents, coaches, and sports facilities nationwide. I have worked with Lucas Sports, INC., talking to parents, athletes, coaches and gym owners across the country about the mental strength of athletes as well as the importance of finding a balance with family and the sport. I am a compassionate coach who brings years of experience to educate and guide children, adolescents, parents, families, athletes and gym owners.
